Scrap my car
in Doncaster
Doncaster is the second-biggest area in our records after Sheffield, and it is spread wide: from the town centre estates out to Thorne, Hatfield and the Isle of Axholme on one side and Rossington, Tickhill and Bawtry on the other. The collectors covering DN postcodes are used to the distances, and the price already includes the lorry.

A big borough, priced district by district
Doncaster is a dozen postcode districts and they do not all look the same. Balby, Hexthorpe and Bessacarr in DN4 and the centre and Wheatley in DN1 and DN2 are the town proper — terraces, estates and a lot of kerbside collection. Bentley, Scawsby and Sprotbrough in DN5, Armthorpe and Kirk Sandall in DN3, Adwick and Askern in DN6 are the ring around it. Then the outer towns: Hatfield and Stainforth in DN7, Thorne and Moorends in DN8, Rossington, Tickhill and Bawtry in DN10 and DN11, Edlington and Conisbrough in DN12. Each district is priced on its own against the collectors that cover it, so a Thorne quote and a Balby quote can differ by a few pounds for the same car.
Cars, vans and the trading estates
Doncaster's trading estates — Wheatley Hall Road, Kirk Sandall, the iPort side — put more vans through the network than anywhere in Yorkshire apart from Sheffield. A van up to 3.5 tonnes is priced from its registration like a car, collected on the same free basis, and a business can be invoiced. The racecourse-side terraces and the big estates at Intake, Balby and Cantley send the cars.
What happens on the day
The collector rings within a couple of hours of you accepting to agree a day. The driver checks photo ID and proof of address — the V5C helps but is not essential — loads the car, and the yard pays the registered keeper by bank transfer within 24 hours of collection. Because every collector is an Authorised Treatment Facility, the Certificate of Destruction follows and the DVLA is told you are no longer the keeper. MOT failures, non-runners and insurance write-offs are all priced the same way; condition changes the figure, not whether someone comes.

Reviews
What people say afterwards
Great customer service and very professional. They made the whole experience easy as I had never done anything like this before and contacted me promptly to arrange collection. I received a great price for the car too. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely hassle free just as advertised. Quick service, fast pay. Peace of mind.
So very easy , a few clicks , a phone call and all was taken care of. I treated my self with a take away the same night. Also best price I found and I compared 😂
Questions
What people in Doncaster ask
Do you cover Thorne, Hatfield and the Isle of Axholme?
Yes — DN7, DN8 and DN9 are priced like the rest of Doncaster, and Thorne and Hatfield have pages of their own. The collectors that cover the east side of the borough are used to the run.
Why is my Doncaster quote different from my neighbour's?
Because the price is built from the car, not the address: kerb weight, engine, whether it starts and rolls, and whether the catalytic converter is present. Two cars on the same street can be a hundred pounds apart.
Can a business scrap several vans at once?
Yes. Enter each registration for its own price; the same collector usually takes the lot on one run, and the yard can invoice the business for the books.
How quickly can you collect a scrap car in Doncaster?
Usually within one to three days. Your collector is a licensed yard local to Doncaster, so once you accept the price they ring you — normally within a couple of hours — to agree a day, and again before setting off.
Is collection in Doncaster really free?
Yes. The collector's price already includes the recovery truck, so there is nothing to pay anywhere in Doncaster (DN1, DN2, DN3, DN4, DN5, DN6, DN7, DN8, DN9, DN10, DN11, DN12), and the figure you accept is the figure paid into your bank.
Do I need the V5C logbook?
It helps, but you can still scrap the car without it. The collector checks your photo ID and proof of address instead, and because every yard on the network is an Authorised Treatment Facility, the Certificate of Destruction is issued and the DVLA is told you are no longer the keeper.
Can I get cash for my scrap car?
No — paying cash for scrap vehicles has been illegal in England and Wales since 2013, and in Scotland since 2016. Your collector pays by bank transfer to the registered keeper within 24 hours of collection.
