Scrap my car
in Falkirk
Falkirk is the busiest part of Scotland in our records after Glasgow: FK2 alone — Grangemouth, Polmont and the east of the town — has sent more cars through the network than any other Scottish district. Halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, it is quoted by yards from both sides.

Between the two cities
Falkirk sits on the M9 with Glasgow forty minutes one way and Edinburgh thirty the other, so collectors from both directions can reach it cheaply. More yards able to quote means a better best price; the site shows the top figure for your district and that yard collects, usually within one to three days.
The district
FK1 is Falkirk town and Camelon; FK2 Grangemouth, Polmont, Brightons and Maddiston; FK3 the rest of Grangemouth; FK4 Bonnybridge and Banknock; FK5 Larbert and Stenhousemuir; FK6 Denny; and FK10 Alloa and Clackmannan across the river. Grangemouth and Polmont lead our records here, with Alloa and Larbert close behind. Everything is flat and easy to reach.
What the yards see here
Family cars at the end of the MOT, retired vans from the Grangemouth docks and the refinery contractors, and the odd 4x4 from the villages. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes are priced from the registration and can be invoiced. MOT failures, non-runners and damaged cars are priced the same way as a clean car, minus what is missing.
The rules in Scotland, done properly
The collector is a licensed Scottish metal dealer and Authorised Treatment Facility. The registered keeper is paid by bank transfer within 24 hours of collection — cash for scrap has been banned in Scotland since 2016 — and the Certificate of Destruction is issued with the DVLA told you are no longer the keeper. Lost the logbook? It is not needed. What the driver needs is photo ID and proof of address for the registered keeper.

What people say afterwards
So very easy , a few clicks , a phone call and all was taken care of. I treated my self with a take away the same night. Also best price I found and I compared 😂
Fantastic experience from enquiry through to collection. Payment made promptly and the communication was excellent. Highly recommended.
Highly professional and recommendable from start to finish. Collected my vehicle and paid within a few hours, and the collection driver was absolutely brilliant. Can’t recommend them enough and if I ever have to scrap a car again won’t hesitate to use them. Paid the best price too!
Questions
What people in Falkirk ask
Is Alloa covered as well as Falkirk?
Yes — FK10 (Alloa and Clackmannan) is priced with Falkirk, Grangemouth, Larbert, Denny and Bonnybridge.
Why has Grangemouth had so many collections?
A lot of older cars and vans, and a location both Glasgow-side and Edinburgh-side yards can reach easily along the M9 — so the district is priced competitively and collected quickly.
Who pays me?
The collecting yard, by bank transfer to the registered keeper within 24 hours of collection. Scotland has banned cash for scrap since 2016.
When could you collect from Falkirk?
Quickly — the collector who takes Falkirk jobs is based nearby, not the other end of the country. Accept the price, they ring to agree a day, and the driver confirms before setting off.
Is there a collection fee in Falkirk?
No. Collection is free: the price on your quote is the price the collector pays, with the truck built in across FK1, FK2, FK3, FK4, FK5, FK6, FK10. It only changes if the car turns out to be missing something you told us it had.
Can you scrap it without the logbook?
Yes. Photo ID and proof of address are what the collector is required to check; the V5C is a bonus. Every collector on the network is an Authorised Treatment Facility, so the Certificate of Destruction and the DVLA notification follow either way.
How do you pay?
By bank transfer to the registered keeper, sent by the collector within 24 hours of collection. Cash is not an option — it has been illegal for scrap vehicles since 2013.
